OUR HISTORY
The founder, Shingo Ito (left), is also the fourth generation of the Maruni Nori Seaweed Store, which has been in business for over 100 years.
The Nori Seaweed Store was founded in Tokyo by his great-grandfather as a leading wholesaler.
Over time, however, the company changed its form to focus on retail sales and online stores for the general public.
In 2018, when the main market moved to the new market (Toyosu), the MATCHA STAND brand project was launched in Tsukiji by Shingo.
OUR MATCHA LATTE
It was built to be a casual stop for personalized customer service and, yes, like a coffee stand, to convey the appeal of TSUKIJI and Japanese MATCHA, the style of making one of the best cups of matcha right in front of the each customer.
Although people know about matcha itself, not many people, even among the younger generation of Japanese, know what matcha is.
This concept is intended to help people understand a little more about matcha and Japanese tea.
Today, Shingo's spirit is carried on by our staff, who serve each cup with the utmost care.

Our mission is to provide delicious matcha tea to the world and to share the wonderful taste of matcha and Japanese tea.

We see our role as a link to the next generation, doing what we can, however small, to help solve social and environmental problems not only in Japan, but also on a global scale, and to lead into the future.
