The chasen is one of the most important tools for mastering matcha.
In this article, We will explain a little more about the Chasen with some points.
1.A delicate tool made of bamboo.
The tip of the whisk is fragile and should be handled with care.
Soak the tip of a newly purchased Chasen in warm water for about 10 minutes to soften it.
2.Do not use detergent
When it is finished being used, put the tips of it in hot water and shake it to drop off the matcha.
If the dirt is not removed, use a brush or similar to remove as much dirt as possible from the inside of the ear tips.
3. Do not put it in a plastic case.
After washing, dry it in the shade in an airy place.
Using a Chasen-tate/whisk stand helps the Chasen to keep its shape while drying, so it lasts longer.
<NOTE>
We are often asked, "How many times can I use a Chasen before it is no longer usable?
Basically, when a whisk is used in a tea ceremony, it is used in front of the guests, so if a tip breaks, for example, it is likely to be replaced with a new one.
However, if you use it at home, it is better to buy a new one when the tip becomes worn and misshapen.
Rinse it well with water to clean it and dry it well before storing it.
